I think all the times JP gets smacked in the face and doesn't react should add up as credits that he can spend when some c**k stiff arms him and head butts him while he's lying on the ground. The fact that Leeds got the penalty and that both players had 10 minutes and both showed each other respect after the game finished should really be the end of it. I don't want to see punches thrown at every tackle but then neither will coaches - 12 men on the pitch is not ideal. tvoc is right sometimes about the sanitisation of the game going too far.

Agree about Thaler, far too busy looking to see if JP's prone body was obstructing defenders.

Inevitable and not unwarranted. I personaly don't think there was anything in it other than a general insult, but it was the wrong word to use and it would be innapropriate to let it go unpunished.

Can anyone else remember when you were a kid & you were told that "sticks & stones may break your bones but names will never hurt you"?
I don't condone what Hardaker may or may not have said nor to whom, but we do need to maintain some sense of proportion here.
An 8 game ban when you get less for breaking someone's jaw or causing, however accidentally, a career threatening injury?
Also am I alone in regretting the loss of the word "gay" in any other context than that of reference to homosexual men?
Sometimes I despair of the modern world.

Have to agree Old Feller. For my money Child and Mick Monas grassed Hardaker up, for something that is probably said 100 times every SL game.

Not condoning the connotations, but feel a sense of perspective is needed here.

You'd fine JP for doing what most enforcers in RL would when subjected to a few cheap shots on the floor?

Luckily mac will look at JP and remember the amount of graft he gets through week after week after week.
