Very happy with that. He has had plenty knockers on here and FB.
2016 wasn't fare on him as he tried to do more work for those who was shafting it.

Happy with this - had a good year in 2018.

However I think he still needs to develop his attacking play and be consistently good if he wants to be a regular with us, too often he seems to follow a good year with an average/poor one. A fit Ben Currie obviously takes up one back row spot, Jason Clark looks nailed on for the 13 spot.

BMM will no doubt hope for a regular starting spot too and Livett will hopefully knock on the door.

He improved his attacking game in 2018, but a way to go I think.

He keeps hold of it a bit too often but realistically he has had 2 god seasons with us, the poor season in 2017 he definitely wasn't the only one. Deserves the contract for me, I think he has plenty of improvement left in him as well.

He's probably the quickest on the books, including all the backs.

2 years may have been better. I don't like long contracts.

The kid is 26 with his prime yet to come and has been in good form for you guys last year. I hate when fans begrudge players signing longer contracts, why should rugby players not expect to get the same security we all want from our own jobs?

Just my opinions unless it's a FACT, in which case it's a fact.

Sport is different, especially sport with a salary cap. Financial commitments to players have to be balanced with spending wisely across the squad. You may recall the Matty Russell situation? Signed on a silly long contract and we had to PAY for a club to take him of our hands as he was a dead weight on our cap.

By all means sign world beaters on longer contracts as they offer more to the team. Hughes is a decent, utilitarian player. But that's all.

As for job security, this is such a myth. Most employed people have 1 months notice - that's it. Self employed people have none. Some people have zero hour contracts. I bet the staff at Debenhams would like 3 years job security right now, or our resident taxi driver.

Best job security there is - at least a years salary, ideally more, sitting in the bank.
