That is different from 5 days pay for 4 days work - how many businesses do you think could survive with a 20% pay increase across the board?

You need to get out more

Every place of work in my career has expected 5 or 6 hours of unpaid additional work a week , with notes taken on non compilers

If that's a complaint against the government then I'm not sure what your point is, if your wife is condensing 5 days work into 4 and it works then where's the problem, I happen to agree with you btw having done it myself and also worked a 4 on 4 off system it suited me perfectly unfortunately it's not for everyone.

That is not what Labour were proposing - they were proposing, the TUC are the same, 4x7.2 but pay for 5x7.2!!

35 hours over 4 days seems a good policy to me
