In his Q&A he boasted about making and taking policy decisions without reference to the Prime Minister. Sounds like he's a bit more involved in government than they're letting on. Advisor? He's practically running the show. I thought we'd had enough of unelected bureaucrats?

I bet Boris has to tell Cummings if he's going to be away from the office, too and check that is's ok :D
It's easy to see which one of the Bojo - Dom partnership wears the trousers (well, jogging pants).- It has more than a whiff of "Yes Minister".

I also read with interest that: Dominic Cummings said during his press interview on Monday: “For years I’ve warned of the dangers of pandemics. Last year I wrote about the possible threat of coronaviruses and the urgent need for planning.”
What he didn't tell us that despite the original post being made last year, it was amended in April this year.
It seems that he can indeed see the future but, only after it's happened.

"Lying, cheating, hurting, that's all you seem to do" Led Zepelin, from the very aptly titled "You're time is gonna come" lets hope it is "one of these days and it wont be long, you look for me and baby i'll be gone"

Ironic that the far right on the Union Jack Twitter are using the #BeKind hashtag to use a shield when they get shown up.

Cronus, I genuinely think you are losing sight of Mr Cummings actions and in trying to skirt round it / justify it, you appear to be adopting the very same tactics used by Tory central.
Yes, others have broken the lockdown rules, for all sorts of reasons - we can agree on that.
However, Cummings of all the people in the UK, has been involved in the rules governing lockdown, the advice to stay at home (in London in his case) and front and centre of the government message.
Your #mediascum is just fecking hilarious, although this is being driven by his supporters.
Where were you when the media have mistreated so many others in the past - is this hypocrisy on your part

Lets keep this on topic and stop with the multi distraction stuff, it's laughable.

I notice that you dont sight those in public service that have resigned for lesser breeches of the lockdown rules but, that would be to send "your man" to the gallows. More hypocrisy ??

Multi distraction? It's all a direct consequence of the hysterical media witch-hunt. People have long been sick of the media and this vicious targeting of one man and his family is despicable. It's gone far beyond reasonable. There's a global pandemic in full swing and we've had 3-4 days of nothing but Dominic Cummings.

I've commented many, many times on the behaviour of the media, I despise many areas of the media. Their inane questions, their desperation for scalps and scandal, the "so you're saying" approach mastered by the likes of Cathy Newman, the paparazzi who think they can invade ANY aspect of a person's life. They find a fault, they escalate it and they keep going until heads roll. They deserve everything they get. Did you see the Sky reporter outside No.10 yesterday as Hancock arrived? Is that the level of journalism we want?

Face it, the fact Cummings went to Durham and isolated was within the rules, unless you think the care of his young child is unimportant. You might not like it, but tough titties. The only things you're actually all in a frenzy about is the drive to Barnard Castle and the fact it's the architect of Brexit and Johnson's right-hand man. Should he have done it? Probably not. But feck me this is pathetic.

If someone has resigned over lockdown that's their choice. I also despise this culture of resignation - and I've said the same on here many, many times. It's also pathetic. "I touched someone's knee 15 years ago, there goes my career." "I said something silly 20 years ago when I was a teenager". Pathetic. Grow a pair. You'll notice I haven't called for the resignation of anyone during lockdown because I think we can all understand the pressures we're all under, and people will make silly decisions at times, often with good intentions. They're feckwits, deserve a bollocking and should apologise, but you can't say I'm hypocritical on this matter. The people I abhor are those who brazenly break the rules repeatedly and take the p.ss. We all know them, some are even on here.

And now we have Emily Thornberry justifying and encouraging the mob outside Cummings' home. Despicable woman (something I've also said many times). The left in full swing.

If Boris had a decent pair, he would have "let Cummings go" and we could indeed have moved on at pace.
The cover up has been nothing short of embarrassing.

I absolutely agree about the press/media but, they have carried on like this for decades, although, usually it's ok, as they are chasing out lefties and commies.

You mention repeated breaking of lockdown, Cummings it seems went on a break lockdown rampage.

Home to his sick wife - good on him - no issue
Suspecting her of being Covid positive, he returned to work to pick up some stuff risking infecting all of the staff ???
Then decided, that, despite having family close by, he would visit his parents farm, with child minding on site ???
His wife, wrote her harrowing blog of what its like to have to care for someone, which was presumed to be from their London home, not thinking to once mention her desperate concerns that they may need childcare ???
Jolly up to Barnard Castle "to test Dom's eyesight" ???
Stopping at the side of the road as junior Cummings needed a pee, for 20 minutes ???
Not bothering to mention any of this to his boss until afterwards ???

He's put himself in the spotlight and his boss isn't brave enough or capable enough to deal with his rogue employee.
Cummings supporters call it an oversight or, a mistake and some of his fellow Tory MP want us to move on.

He should be remembered for getting Brexit through and for getting Boris into power but, as a guy in his mid 40's, dashing up the A1 at very short notice, his greatest achievement is going for 5 hours without needing to stop for a mickey and managing to get to Durham without having to stop for petrol / diesel - both could be seen as modern day miracles or perhaps just plain lies - not that he would ever mis lead anyone.
