Yes, it tells us he's not in a stable state of mind, it also tells us that something has riled him up and made him feel like he needed to take action. Obviously no sane person would do what he's done, but that doesn't mean that the reasons for it should just be dismissed. He's been fed strong enough rhetoric and tensions have been whipped up so much that it was enough for a person on the edge, as he clearly was, to be pushed over the edge.

And yes, campaigning has (rightly) been suspended which is why accusations of 'political points scoring' are doubly absurd.

Firstly because I'm not a politician, and secondly because this is a political assassination and I have the freedom of speech to discuss it, which is something that you people are always so quick to bring up whenever it suits your agenda. The fact is that you don't want people to talk about this because you can't deal with the fact that it exposes a section of society that has been cultivated by your ideology.
