Like I say I've no issue with migrant workers as long as infrastructure is designed to take them seamlessly, if we are short or over stretched in any public service then open doors to millions is just idiotic.
This was a problem in certain towns following the influx of eastern Europeans post 2004. I remember one programme - something like Panorama but I'm not sure that it was that particular programme - investigating the pressures public services were under in certain areas. Peterborough springs to mind. If memory serves they ran out of school places among other problems.

I'm sure there are things we can do here to alleviate the effects, the increasing use of recruitment agencies isn't helpful in this regard.
The recruitment agency model has grown massively in the past few years - ten years ago I was at a large supermarket customer in their staff canteen with some of their warehouse supervisors and one young lad was reading a Polish tutor book, when asked what it was he stated that it was the next big thing and having a working knowledge of Polish would benefit his management career - very astute lad.
12 months later I was at one of their largest distribution sites in the south of England on the day it opened and they had an intake of 500 new staff to induct, we were importing all of the personnel records and not to put too fine a point on it all 500 intake that day were from agencies and all were Polish, that was the first time I had appreciated just what an effect on employment the freedom of movement across borders was going to create, on that site the wage rates were above NMW but they had not been able to recruit in the locality in the numbers that they required, the job was then handed over to the agency.
Its very unusual now for me to go into an agency office and find a majority of UK workers on their books and the admin staff in many agencies are Polish/Lithuanian/etc etc, in my admin support role I probably speak to more non-UK than UK citizens each day now.
Apart from tomorrow when I have to go to Grimsby again, may the Lord protect me
Do Spanish people complain about the migration of English folk over there?
I don't think the fear is of migration, but about the sort of people migrating. For example you would not necessarily want thousands of highly skilled pickpockets beggars or benefit fraudsters, many of whom would double as health tourists, flooding in. If the same individuals were all highly skilled labour, self-sufficient and not undercutting local labour nor draining social resources then the same individuals would (presumably) be welcomed. Wherever they were from.
I think many assume, whipped up by a frenzy of tabloid scare stories, that we are in for much of the former. Sadly experience has shown that their worries are based in a lot of reality, but at least we will continue to support the growing Romanian mansion construction industry if nothing else.

I wonder how many folk will believe & be influenced by the rags that spite all the negative vile?

This is a statement I have heard made many times but I haven't seen any evidence to back it up. Are you able to link to any?
Just curious.
I can show you xrays of my hips, knee and foot fusion, all prosthetics and screws implanted by migrant workers. My injection and medical advice, all given to me by a migrant worker, my fillings in my teeth, courtesy of a migrant worker, my opticians appointment, made for me by a migrant worker. My salad I had for tea tonight, all picked (in all probability) by a migrant worker. My elderly relative in the care home, cared for by a migrant worker. Need any more evidence??
If it was Britain 2 and Britain 3 instead of Romania and Bulgaria I'd still think the same, it's a numbers thing that's it. So are you going to join the adults now or do I lower myself to your childish level?
Put your xenophobia back in the closet and get over it.
Don't worry it's all this geezer does Wire Yed. That's his way of debating.
