It is no shock that the majority of people who die from this virus also have underlying serious conditions - similar to those that die from seasonal flu. I am constantly amazed at the power of the human spirit to battle illness - if you look at cancer patients with a survival goal it is amazing how many can fight off the illness through sheer human will. Tough enough might be a bad way of putting it be no reason to live might be another?

You can fight off "normal" illness by being reasonably fit, with a healthy lifestyle and yes, a positive attitude can help.
However, you cant beat cancer or coronavirus just by being positive, drugs and decent medical car are what you need (in both cases).

Next off, you'll be advocating the US style church blessings to beat the virus ??

Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.

You misunderstand - if you have a will to live you can significantly improve your outcome - look at war victims, cancer sufferers - you are naïve to under estimate the power of positive thinking - I think there many, many examples of its power. If you simply give up your demise will be swift. We only have to look at sport if you believe you can win you have more chance than if you beat before your start. There are many examples of people with the same illness and the impact of mental toughness on the outcome

There are also (too) many examples of healthy fit and positive young people who have died from cancer and other diseases, who have possessed all of the positivity and will power that you speak of and still ended up in the ground.
I'm sure that their families would be touched by your "wisdom" ??

So now we hear that Johnson is sitting up in bed and talking with the staff - that being the case, he isn't actually in ICU in the way that you or I would experience it, and never was; he's on a private floor of an NHS hospital, which I've no doubt is fully staffed and well equipped. After a few more days of ministers making trite comments about his toughness and resilience, he'll emerge having 'beaten' COVID-19, and the new narrative will be about Boris Johnson, the superhuman PM who tackled the virus singlehandedly, whilst still issuing instructions to the cabinet and being saucy with the nurses.

Stops us talking about the criminal lack of testing, failure to procure sufficient PPE, and the massively skewed death rates compared to our European neighbours.

All down to his positive mental attitude, apparently

Tbf Bren, he certainly wasn't well but, equally, he either hasn't been in intensive care or we are being played.
Until he comes out we wont know where the truth is, which is a surprise where Johnson is concerned - he's always been so open and honest previously :LIAR: :LIAR:

Great to see the huge out pouring of support and concern from the country for our 'get it done' leader.

What does it matter if he's been in a private ward or intensive care. He runs the country and deserves the best. This isn't some communist, we are all equal state.

Wow - I would hate to live in your world - it is so depressive and sceptical - you need to look in the mirror and ask yourself why you have such a downbeat attitude on everything - I can't remember a positive post of yours. I don't know what has happened in your life but it can't be as bad as you portray?

Look ahead you will be at the top of the food chain when the revolution happens - isn't that the reality of Socialism - the haves and the have nots? I see in Venezuela they are binning the money because it simply has no value - keep that red flag flying its the future :D

If he's a level 2 patient ie Cpap/Epap or non rebreath which many patients are sat up with this, he won't be on a regular ward he will be on a make shift Covid ICU unit like every hospital is having to do ie using operating theatre or ICU , which also house level 3 patients ie tubed, ventilated or ECMO/ dialysis. We don't know boris's pre existing comorbidities ie high blood pressure, pre diabetic or what ever else. I don't believe anything that comes from the rags or cabinet so don't know what to believe tbh in regards to his actual condition.

Looks like you have some knowledge of this scenario, are you from a medical background or even working in the nhs?.

There should be a new iteration of Godwin's Law, that can be invoked whenever a RW nutjob invokes Venezuela as an argument against socialist policies; and if said RW nutjob has also failed to acknowledge the crippling sanctions imposed on that country, they should go directly to gaol.
