So a vile letter from a labour mp accusing patell of gaslighting has been ignored by the millionaire champagne socialist leader of Labour.

I know Labour are at an all time low and close to being overtaken by the Lib Dem’s but could they actually stoop any lower?

Patel may be better placed in ensuring that her own party carry out their review on racism within her own party, you know, the review on Islamophobia, that has now been broadened to cover all types of racism ??
Do you think this will actually happen and if so, will it happen in this parliamentary term ??

The government’s system uses a central unit to store people’s details and currently relies more on the individual rather than technology.
I regret that the actions of the government and their employees have generated a lot of mistrust by the way they have handled the pandemic thereby increasing the populations doubt what they say about track and trace details.

Seems like the state of the Art, cutting edge , world beating track and trace Technology we were promised by Boris should be ready by WINTER. still no doubt the usual suspects will be along to tell us that Boris is doing a great job on Covid and That we are all a Bunch of whiners .

They have found a way around the app which requires each individual when they go out ask anyone close by their mobile number should they test positive on that day. I know it would be stupid but without the app this is the only way for the system to work correctly.

I just hope that Boris reads this forum.
He will be taking your idea on and proclaiming that he has solve the problem for us

I find it difficult to understand why the Tories aren't getting slaughtered for their incompetence on this.
They have tried to suggest tat they were "backing 2 horses" and that they have now decided which one to go with but, the truth is that they totally backed the wrong horse and have now decided to change their bet.

With Germany having a test and trace app that they are happy with. why on earth are we not asking their help and copying their model.
Are we so utterly stubborn in wanting to go it alone, with out the help of our former friends in Europe, that we would rather allow our own people to die, than ask for ~Germany's help.

Talk about insular, narrow minded, little Englanders - it's there for everyone to see.

Help from Europe or death - we chose death

The problem is that what Hancock said about testing both systems was not known to Apple or Google because they have had no communication with the government. I hope he wasn’t lying to the public because in addition to not discussing the Apple system they have no idea where the problem with distance comes from.
With regards the Germans they initially thought about developing their own app but quickly realised it was not possible and moved to the Apple and Google system.

You had to admire the sheer brass neck of Dido Harding and little Matty Hancock at Thursday's 5pm briefing. They almost made it sound like it was Apple who weren't up to the job, and that Apple had something to learn from them. I mean, Apple have only been at the forefront of computer technology since 1976.

No doubt Dido Harding will stroll into another well remunerated position after her latest failure.

I wonder how they will explain away the 11 million pounds they have spent so far on a system destined for failure from day one. The list of broken promises and failed cover ups just grows and grows. I actually now believe that Johnson default position is to lie because his friends will cover for him and after all it is only Boris

The fact that Johnson is a liar shouldnt be a surprise to anyone. That's been well documented for many years. The surprise to me is that so many people believed him in 2016 and again in 2019.

He sadly for us is part of the Trump triumvirate with Trump himself and Bolsonaro (Trump of the tropics). They not only failed in all aspects of the virus but the three countries have the highest death totals and just like Trump, Johnson removed the pandemic unit, I guess Cummins thought he could do better.
