So remind us what bit of Christ's teaching on the issue you use to justify your homophobic attitudes.
Oh don't ask that Minty, you'll get a load of garbage about how Jesus got cornered and had to quote the Old Testament to get out of an argument about heterosexual adultery which can obviously be extrapolated to mean gays are just plain bad ... and how St Paul said so as well, so it must be so.

God put headache tablets in birch tree bark - thats good enough proof for me.
Why he put the ingredient to cure a headache inside the bark of an anonymous tree without telling anyone is not for my concern, why Man had to cope with headaches for a couple of thousand years before someone discovered completely by accident that eating tree bark would cure headaches rather than The God typing it onto one of those tablets of stone as a PS, I don't know - "PS - Moses, I've hidden the headache tablets inside the birch tree bark".
He is a very strange God and I've spent a lifetime of eating other things just in case he's hidden anything else, so far I can report that having eaten almost every sort of tree bark and plant leaf indigenous to this island I have not yet, in 56 years caught malaria, beri-beri, dhengi fever, or become pregnant, if only I can find out which plant has cured me of these things then next year my friend I will be that millionaire.

I do accept that the morals that Jesus apparently preached are largely valid today
I disagree, he recommended a diet of fish, indeed went so far as to start up his own fish wholesale business at one point in his life, as he said to Matthew in Luke verse 25, "Matthew, we're in wholesale already", and as everyone knows, fish, as food, is just dire.

Yeah, why did he call it Willow when it should have been The Acetylsalicylic Acid Tree?
Its a public asset that he would only later reveal to the leader of industry who contributed the most to his organisation's advertising budget - The God is a Tory after all.
Instead of coming out with all that preachy twaddle, The Telegraph should look around and see that that, as Christianity has declined, man's charity to man increased, decade upon decade, until approximately 1979 ... how do they explain that?
Missing from the Torygraph's diatribe, I note, is any blame being placed on the rules enshrined in capitalism which makes companies amoral, and exerting morality only vicariously when a) Rules are placed upon them by governments or b) The public votes with its feet. That is where the core issue lies.
I have seen it written in comment pages on the net that it is a companies moral duty to do the best for its shareholders (never mind legal duty) so by avoiding tax as the likes of Google and Amazon do then it's all morally OK. It's bad enough when the "shareholder is king" is used as a defence for all that goes on but whatever, you are spot on to say this kind of thing is what makes companies amoral.

I memory serves me correctly, Paul also said that women must cover their heads in church (in effect). I wonder if Mrs D went to church the other day – and wore a hat.

Love this.
On a similar note, God also created a parasitic worm that lives by eating human eyes.
In 2009, national treasure David Attenbrough told the Radio Times that he gets hate mail from Creationists, for not acknowledging God.
"They always mean beautiful things like hummingbirds," he said. "I always reply by saying that I think of a little child in east Africa with a worm burrowing through his eyeball. The worm cannot live in any other way, except by burrowing through eyeballs."
God is good.

One could also point out that successive prime ministers since (and including) Margaret Thatcher have claimed to be Christians – and, by their policies, have made it ever easier for big business to behave in such a manner.

On the issue of religion = moral, explain this: I live in a country where religion is compulsory. You have a choice of 6 these days. However, it is one of the most corrupt countries in the world. Recently, a police chief was caught with boxes of cash in the boot of his car. He claimed it was a blessing from god.
