So who will be our next PM and how are they going to balance the conflicting interests within our fractured society? Boris Johnson has blown things. He expected and hoped to lose and then win the Tory party election for leadership from the Euroscepric party faithful because he'd stood on Leave platform previously. Now if he gets the job he won't have a successful premiership / legacy as he'll be sorting out the exit. BoJo biggest loser here. Expect May to be PM but she'll be a disaster.
It has been so delicious this last 24 hours or so, seeing the liberal, Starbucks-drinking, iPod generation crying into their Social Justice course papers. Democracy when it suits, eh? Hypocrites. Even better has been the BBC crying themselves stupid. I can't wait for the documentary 'Brexit: why ARE white people so bigoted'?
Also... celebrities, British celebrities who moved abroad, people who don't and won't feel the squeeze on services, doctors, schools etc that (uncontrolled) immigration can cause. Cannot stand them, disgusting creatures.
I consider myself a young(ish) voter, and I voted to leave. Calling anyone who voted to leave a racist, or xenophobe is exactly why we're in this situation. There has been a large minority of anti eu, anti-immigration sentiment in this country for a long time, and instead of addressing this with a legitimate, reasoned debate, these people were arrogantly dismissed by the political elite, and the regressive left. Now the crazies on the right of the Tory party now have a genuine mandate to push their agenda. Frankly, I would like to see an end to the whole EU project, and the (non) free trade agreements that underpin it, and consolidate the power of corporations, and bureaucrats.
Now if Corbyn had stuck to his principles instead of pandering to the dogmatic Blairites and backed the leave camp he could've shifted the debate away from immigration, and not alienated many of the 18-30 voters who got him elected in the first place. and he'd have been in a strong position to challenge the Torries.
I see 'Lord' Hill has resigned as the UK EU commissioner. I wonder how many people knew who he was before today? It's another example of the opaque undemocratic nature of the EU. The EU Commissioner is one of the most powerful, and important positions within the EU, yet it's a position given to a peer, selected by other peers.
A prolonged period of uncertainty is inevitable, but to say that we're doomed economically is a gross exaggeration. It's not as if the EU is a economic utopia. It's more resembling of a dystopia in terms of economic fundamentals. In fact as we've seen in Greece, the EU are more concerned about making an example of a member nation for making a fool of them than it is with enduring they make the economically correct choices that would benefit not just Greece, but the whole EU project. I don't think it's the kind of organisation we should be throwing our weight behind.
The 11 members who met today have asked us to begin the exit process immediately, this is their attempt to make an example of us and scare other nations who may be harbouring ideas of referendums of their own into compliance. All they have succeeded in doing so far is to highlight themselves as acting like petulant children instead of providing a calm and measured response in keeping with the way European citizens would expect the people who govern them to do.
Mind you, it could also have something to do with the realisation that their individual countries contributions will increase. Its predicted that Germany will have to cough up an additional 2.8 Billion Euros. No wonder the toys are in orbit.....
So it starts. No more immigrants and immigrants out.
It will all get worse as well.
6h ago 16:13 Police are investigating suspected post-referendum racism after hate mail aimed at the Polish community was allegedly distributed in Cambridgeshire.
Laminated cards reading “Leave the EU - no more Polish vermin” were found in Huntingdon, north west of Cambridge.
The Polish language newspaper, Nasze Strony, reports on the incident and on the fact that the cards even had a translation in Polish on the reverse.
Teachers at a school near to where some of the cards were found yesterday reportedly threw them away but more were left on a path leading to it later.
Inspector Nick Percival of Cambridgeshire Constabulary told the Guardian that police were aware of the incident.
He added: “We are aware of it and have had a report from a member of the public. We are following up are taking it seriously as it does represent a hate crime. We would encourage anyone who is either a victim or is aware of the source of this to come forward.”
There are plenty of Poles in Doncaster. Never had any trouble and don't expect any.
The vote was about 70% leave. I would say we are a pretty tolerant lot, like most of the UK.
Can't see the pitchforks coming out any time soon.
Polish couple assaulted at a supermarket in Middlesbrough and told to go home yesterday.
There is a slow tide of racism developing Farage is the slightly gormless and respectable face but the darker elements will be following in his footsteps
So it starts. No more immigrants and immigrants out.
It will all get worse as well.

Incidents like those have been happening for years. The leave vote hasn't encouraged people to all of a sudden to become prejudiced. I'm not condoning these incidents btw.
Accusations of racism have been banded about by many who are, quite frankly, sore losers. It isn't racist to want to break away from an undemocratic organisation ruled by unelected (btw white) bureaucrats. Alright, our democracy isn't perfect but at least it's ours.

Are you denying there was was no anti immigrant agenda in the leave campaign ?
it Are you telling me that this type of talk does not have an affect on the local bigots and idiots.
Have I accused you or anyone of Racism ?
I have said that the tone of the campaign has potentially unleashed something dark.
The constant response of those saying don't call me racist when they have not being accused of it is weird.
Maybe you do protest too much
I am sure your not a racist. Maybe you will tell me you have lots of polish friends to prove it.
Stop been so loving defensive.
Antimimmigrantnfeeling will be on the rise.
I think there is a strong risk we will go back to the bad old days of the 1970s and 80s with the NF and bnp.
