thought the consensus was that 5 years was more than is generally given (In SA) for what he was actually convicted of.
They won't get a murder conviction..

The consensus of opinion here seems to be that he got off lightly.
No idea where Mugwump got his conspiracy theory from, but it isn't something being talked about here in SA.

Corruption is a word never far from anyone's lips in South Africa. Anyone that takes an interest, that is. And since I grew up with a 17-year veteran in the Gauteng police force who was twice tasked to a national unit that arrested senior officials on charges of corruption in Jo'burg, Pretoria and Bloemfontein over a period of three years my guess is I am better informed than most on the rampant levels of corruption in that country.
