JONNY is right at the peak on the top left of the Dunning-Kruger curve. It's amusing discussing stuff with him, but ultimately futile.
Dunning-Kruger curve, brilliant, hilarious, absolutely priceless. You really brighten up a dull day. I’ve never heard of that nor I suspect as anybody else on here. Do you honestly think people are going to swoon in admiration in you posting that little gem. In the meantime perhaps you may care to inform us as to how many illegal immigrants we should take in. Bearing in mind we seem to be attracting people from Iran, Albania plus various countries in Africa.

Again, just because you're evidently pretty ignorant, don't assume other people are.
Putting a number on how many a country should bring lines up pretty well with the "dumb" stuff. The sort of binary, black/white question that nationalist politicians forever try to distil a complex world into in an attempt to generate grievance. In the real, grown up world, it depends on the global situation and how many people are displaced. Right now there are millions of people who have been forced out of their homes in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan. Many as a direct result of policies our country has been involved in.
Ignorantly and selfishly and inhumanly rejecting any responsibility for trying to help that mass of humanity might work for you and other red faced furymongers (who more often than not were amongst the biggest cheerleaders for invading or bombing those countries in the first place) but sometimes the adults in the room have to decide what is the right thing to do rather than the politically expedient one.

Don't tar everyone with your ignorance brush. You should know what the Dunning-Kruger curve is. Johnson and his rag tag government demonstrate it on a daily basis.

Ah so that's it is it Nod, your perception of being treated as a grown up includes spouting other peoples crap who themselves are aspiring to be treated as a grown up well done, if you were the adult you claim to be, then surely you'd see other peoples objectives and not just your own one eyed theories, because that's all they are.

Unlike some my starting point isn't one of British Nationalism, racial or other supremacy or a complete lack of awareness of how fortunate I and everyone else born on this group of islands has been in almost every aspect of our lives. A tiny bit of humility and perspective and compassion would go quite a long way.

It would be interesting to know what is your starting point exactly, I'm sure there's no lack of awareness whatsoever on the part of anybody on this board regarding how fortunate most if not all of us are in this country so please don't embarrass yourself by trying unsuccessfully I might add by trying to take the moral high ground as per usual with your sermons, it just seems to me that some are more concerned with the failings to look after our own despite which party is in power, not sure exactly how the saying goes, but a lot can help one but one can't help a lot, and I'm sure this government along with that shabby crowd you crave for does what it can to support the unfortunates of this world, and if you and your mates didn't have your heads stuck that far up your backsides you might realise that, a tiny bit of humility and perspective and compassion would go a long way, quite right captain, why then don't you practise what you are preaching.
Being all one sentence that was largely incomprehensible.
However I could glean that, as ever, you're more concerned with holding the opposition to account than the actual government. We got one message loud and clear: criticism of the regime really triggers you.

Never had you down as a member of the grammar police Nod, however the good news is it works both ways and what ever my failings I'm glad you still managed to decipher my post Wrong again Nod I don't mind criticism at all, personally I'm not one way or tuther regarding the two main components of the argument on here, what I don't like is your refusal to allow other people with different political views a right to air their views on here, where as your views whether proven or unsubstantiated are taken as gospel including uncalled for personal abuse, hope that clears it up for you , by the way I've deliberately put a spelling mistake in for you just to see If your ready to take your sergeants exam, one word of warning though it's not the obvious one.
