No, just not something I could imagine a young man playing. What age group is it aimed at? Is the game itself deep or as cutesy as the visuals?
I haven't played it long enough to measure how deep it is. I see a lot of potential in the game and its potential as a franchise. From the way the battles play out, there could be a huge multiplayer scene in the future with immense depth and skill, but that's all potential and I've only played the game for a few hours. I've really enjoyed it, it reminds me so much of Pokemon, it's the type of game the PS3/360 has lacked for a long time, but I also feel it's probably arrived a couple of years too late as it's just a single player game right now. I'm not always a fan of great single player games developing unnecessary multiplayers for the sake of it, but I'm already excited about playing this game in a few years time against friends. For now, it's an excellent single player game that fills a massive need in the gaming scene at the moment, the JRPG has struggled for years but this is something to draw people back in.
Everyone ready for the PS4 announcement tomorrow night? It's being livestreamed, starting at 6pm Eastern time, which I think is around 10-11pm over here.
Should be interesting to see what they have come up with.

11pm.
Eastern is -5.
Based on the dev kit specs + controller it looks like it should be a great console...not too sure about the idea of 4 dual core CPU's over 1 8 core though (based on "leaked" specs).

Not read anything on it, but my mate at work says all the rumours are really underwhelming?
I'm shocked they're announcing it so soon. Surely this is make or break for Sony? Has anything been rumoured on how backwards compatible they will be?

There are rumours that Sony and Microsoft have both got together and shook hands on both new consoles NOT being backwards compatible and that neither will support used games. How much creed you give rumours about pending console releases I'm not sure, but it's an interesting theory. One side allowing used games and the other not would be an enormous competitive advantage, so it'll be very interesting to see if that turns out to be true. Any positive press caused by the reveals would be swamped with angry backlashes from retailers and consumers about that. Another rumour is that both will be online-only, so you won't be able to play games, even offline, if you are not connected to the internet. Another bone of contention for some that idea.
If anything, from the rumours, it looks like the next generation is going to be an exact replica of this one. Sony to have a slightly better machine technically, but Xbox to be out first and have more of a cohesive offering in terms of Live/Kinnect/Xbox Music etc. Price points will be interesting too, will the Xbox be more expensive this time with Kinnect 2 bundled in, or will MS again subsidise the kit to ensure it's again cheaper than PS?
Internet only would be absolutely stupid, purely because it isn't them that provide the internet so it would be unfair on users if they were to suffer internet issues and be without a console.

Apparently on the new Xbox you need to be connected to XBL to even play games
That would be a stupid decision to go with.
Another apparently is the technology Sony patented for 1 use were for Blu Ray movies, not games which would put them at an obvious huge advantage over Microsoft.
I've just finished LA Noire again, and I have to say, after all the furore about the ending of Mass Effect 3, I think that the ending in LA Noire is far far worse. It makes playing the whole game just a complete waste of time.
