If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Frederick Douglas

Sounds like a gloryhunter from the 80's - Wigan has its own postcode, Warrington only covers Warrington/Widnes/St Helens, so I'm guessing you are from one of those areas and simply just jumoed on the Wigan bandwagon when you were winning everything every season back in the 80's and early 90's?...

Golborne and Lowton are Wigan borough, Warrington postcode, in Cheshire yet covered by Greater Manchester Police.

Golborne is mainly Wigan fans with a sprinkling of Warrington, St Helens and Leigh fans.

I know numerous people in East Yorkshire (Hessle, Anlaby etc) who look down their noses at Hull.
Yet the city of culture is for the wider area we are being told.

the FACT is that Hessle, Anlaby etc. ARE IN EAST YORKSHIRE

So Hull win city of culture and lo and behold some in the East Riding want to be involved.
Yet as soon as anyone mentions moving the boundary so they are in Hull's boundary almost all of them act as though someone has insulted their mother.
What a bunch of 2 faced *****.

They probably don't want associating with Bransholme, Orchard Park, Longhill, Greafield, Bilton Grange, North Hull and Boothferry Estates, Gipsyville, Hessle Road, Anlaby Road, Holderness Road, Preston Road...........
But they are stuck with Withernsa.

They will have their work cut out, me and the gaffer were shopping in Hull yesterday and it was dead, what a contrast to our shopping trip in Liverpool last weekend which had a wonderful christmas market with food stalls, craft stalls etc and an abundance of nice eateries and drinkeries to stop and refresh in.

The boundary breakdown has always struck me as a bit do-lally.
Withernsea 20 miles directly to the East of Hull = East Yorkshire.
Goole 20 miles-ish directly to the West of Hull = East Yorkshire.

Did you get rid of all the voices in your head? Do you now miss them and the things that they said?

Which county do you think Hull belongs to?

It isn't in a County, it's a City by charter (1299), people seem to not really know the history of the place.

So, how come it was previously in the county of Humberside?
