He said sorry, he isn’t going anywhere so just accept that.

Labour can now claim benefit for the Lib Dems and SNP windfall tax policy.

We can accept something as true and wish for better.
I accept he isn't going anywhere. I don't accept his apology because it is not sincere, and even if it was it'd be insufficient without an accompanying resignation.

He flouted the rules and oversaw an organisation that both created them and flagrantly and repeatedly broke them, during the biggest acute public health crisis of the modern era. Other people, better people (low bar, admittedly) resigned for less and that was seen as appropriate. Big Dog though, he's still sitting there in his own metaphorical excrement, stinking out the nation out. I accept it is true, but it'd be weird to like it, yeah?

How out of curiosity have you reached a position whereby you don’t believe his apology is sincere? You really have no balance do you?

His consistent record as a liar and the way it was delivered. Also reports of him downplaying and dismissing the importance of it all in private and to the 1922 committee. And the Beer Korma gag that made Raab wince (not sure if that was the inappropriateness of it, or the fact that it almost works but Korma doesn't quite rhyme with Starmer... if only they'd ordered kebabs, he could have used Shwarma)

Do you believe his apology is sincere, and his 'humbling' has in any way changed him?

I have you. You are the last and therefore precious to me, my Johnsonian friend.

A sincere apology is off one’s back. Not when you get caught red handed and are forced to make an apology

“You are playing a game of football this afternoon but more than that you are playing for England, and more even than that, you are playing for right versus wrong. You will win because you have to win. Don’t forget that message from home. England expects every one of you to do his duty.”

Re: BorisGate - A Christmas Cover Up : Thu May 26, 2022 9:43 pm
He has shown to be an unfit Prime minister and should be removed if he doesn't have the decency to resign.

A key matter is these people were supposedly running a crisis response to save lives, and they were getting drunk and not being safe when they all could have caught Covid and ended up in the hospital instead of fulfilling their actual jobs!

They can put their own safety at risk if they want but not the lives of others, and the leader of the team, the man who shakes hands with hospital patients and nearly died from it, was too stupid and/or arrogant to learn anything from that experience.

Tbf, in terms of fines for breach of lockdown rules, Bojo, seems to have got off very lightly.
For reasons best known to themselves, The Met didin't bother to investigate some of the gatherings, most notably the "Abba party" held in his own flat, at a time when such things were against HIS rules.
We then come back to just how has he "taken responsibility". He may have nodded his head and looked contrite in Parliament but, he most certainly hasn't taken responsibility.
If he had, then most certainly, he would have resigned and it does seem that a number his junior staff and Ministers, have taken responsibility when they have been "found out" but, not the PM.
Hopefully, this baggage will be carried with him all the way to the next election. He could prove to be Labour's best electoral asset, which would be supremely ironic.

Boris will be Labours major electoral asset as KS will really struggle to hit it off with the public particularly in the televised head to heads.

Johnson's bluster and BS might still convince his personality cult devotees but most grown up people will view things differently. Being leader of the country is a serious job for a serious person, not a lying clown.

So the next one up for continuing the cover up is the Parliament Standards Committee :D

With a Tory majority of 4-2 on the committee it shouldn’t be to difficult to conclude Lyin Boris didn’t mislead Parliament with all his Parties lies

See if the new hospital for Warrington South suddenly gets approved, etc etc :D

He is now having the ministerial code rewritten to remove all those standards he knows he cannot obtain like to break the code is a resignation matter. His plan will be that instead they guilty party can apologise or have some of their salary stopped. I would ask WQ if he is an innocent man why change the code.
We have a televised debate every Wednesday and the general consensus is that de Pfeffel does not do very well and resorts to insults and lies. I wonder if any TV debate before the election will be held in a fridge to make de Pfeffel feel at home. I don’t know where the impression that de Pfeffel is a great debater because this has been disproved since becoming PM.
