I know developers have started cramming multiplayer in left, right and centre, but that's more to try and combat the pre-owned market than driven by demand. I personally have very little interest in multiplayer (at least of the online variety), and my personal circle of gaming friends is a fairly even split, if not tipped in the favour of single-player gamers. My suspicion is that the online multiplayers just shout louder, rather than outnumber single-player gamers.
Yep. I rarely play multi-player except on sports games, and more often than not its in person multiplayer rather than online. I value the single player or campaign element of a game extremely highly and won't buy it for its multiplayer aspects.
Doesn't really confirm anything either way. It's a situation Sony cannot win from. They could be the white knights and say no to used game fees, but this would just lead to less support from the developers and publishers, for whom developing for the Xbox One would be much more profitable in the long term.
In reality all Sony is doing is keeping quiet and letting Microsoft take the PR hit, then they will roll out their own fees and blame the game publishers. EA wouldn't remove their charging system if this wasn't happening. Did Sony ever confirm which parts of PSN will remain free? I really can't see them letting that one slip through the net again.
One interesting rumour is the pricing of the devices. Sony to release two versions, one £280 and one £380 and Microsoft to primarily go with a mobile phone type deal rather than having to pay for the hardware (Which will surely be much more expensive than the PS4 due to the Kinnect sensor).

Age of empires 2 has been re-released as AOE 2 HD , to be honest it looks no better than the original but for fans of the game it means you can play it again online.
What a ridiculous list of prices. £90 per game and £600 for the console.
I'm a tad worried that the console will cost that. But that would also give more credence to the mobile phone contract style purchase plans that are rumoured.
The games won't cost that though. Not a cat in hell's chance they would get away with that. Of course they will come down as you mention, I think full RRP of current gen titles is £59.99, but no one would charge that much. I wouldn't be surprised to see £49.99 as the full release price and even that is way too high.
Somewhere in the dust of time rest the bones of the Galilean He who was spat upon. He whose face was marred beyond all human likeness Somewhere buried among the lies of the past rests the tomb of Yeshua Of he who was made God in a world without Hope. And when this son of Joseph is found. What then will the Church of Rome say? Prepare yourself for the day is coming. And men will say "Blessed are the wasted lives who perished in the flames of the holy war"

TBF Amazon are just covering their asses. I've seen CD's available for pre-order listed at £50-100. With their pre-order price guarantee they always pitch new products with silly prices so they don't lose money when the actual price is announced. Also it looks good when they send you an e-mail saying "you saved x amount as the price dropped to y at the time of release.

I can't wait to play it.
Does look a cracking game, hope it doesn't slip under the radar.
