Work is taking me to the Greek part of Cyprus for 6 months.
Clearly this is going to double as a holiday, particularly as I don't expect there to actually be much work to do.
Not been for about 15 years. Anyone got any advice on where to go / avoid?
Expect things to be considerably more expensive than your last visit then! Since they joined the Euro everything has jumped ridiculously in price.
Depends what you're looking for really. Ayia Napa is still a great place for a night out, without the stag/hen parties and scrapping Brits you get in other Mediterranean hotspots. Protaras is also a great little coastal town and a bit more laid back. The tourist areas have seen a major influx of young wealthy Russians recently - make of that what you will...
I'd also recommend a trip north of the border if you have plenty time on your hands. Crossing into Turkish Occupied Cyprus is now a lot easier and there's no obvious hostility. We went to Kyrenia on the north coast, there's some really good restaurants down by the harbour.
