That may not be as fanciful as I suspect you intended it to be - Priti Patel, disgraced and sacked from her previous ministerial post for conducting back-channel, secret diplomacy with a foreign power, is on record as supporting the return of the death penalty; she is now our Home Secretary - one of the highest offices in the land.

As I've said before - get me out of here.

Ah yes, old Priti, I presume you're referring to the aid money for the Israeli army, I didn't like to mention it in case it was anti-Semitic.

I'm surprised they haven't roped Francois in while they're at it, might as well go the whole hog.

Wow. Just wow. The more I hear from the left wing ultras on here makes me more determined to stay just right of centre.

So, as a "just right of centre" kind of guy, would you vote for the re-introduction of Capital punishment?

With Boris and his new cabinet trying to push "no deal" as their preferred option, just how far will the pound slide before we se an interest rate rise.
Thins will definitely be better (for some) when we are out of the EU.
With Parliament in recess until the beginning of September, is it actually possible to renegotiate the withdrawal agreement (assuming we can persuade the EU to change their minds).

Parliament needs to be sitting to approve any deal. However, the government could move forward with negotiating one during the recess (I assume), if they were thus inclined; currently it seems they are not.

It seem that Boris is back peddling already ?
After speaking with the Irish PM, he is now talking about a 2 year transition. How does this fit with a "no deal" exit.

Not so much back=pedalling as not having a bike. Sure he is obliged to put on a brave face and a show having got Head Boy, but really, let's be serious, what can he actually do? We will basically waste the entire "extension" as time will be almost up when PArliament is back sitting without anything much at all having been done; EU has been adamant the only deal in town is St. Theresa's; they think he won't hard Brexit, he says he will, but other than a major climbdown by EU saying OK Boris, come and talk, literally, what else can he do?

Cue the spaghetti western music. Boris & the EU with pop guns ,shots of the calendar ticking down to 31st October. Whose trigger finger will itch most ,who will blink first ?
