How easy is it to have an outside tap installed?

I have a mixer tap in my kitchen and have never really been able to find a fitting that will go on it that will allow a hosepipe to connect to it without water going everywhere, so would like to have a tap installed just oustide the kitchen, to avoid my kitchen floor being flooded by a poorly fitted hose fitting.

Couldn't be easier. It's really a simple enough DIY job and you can get kits, but a piece of pish for a plumber. Homebase mugs guide

So easy it's scary, especially with snap fit connectors nowadays. Most of the DIY sheds give free leaflets, explaining the process and exactly what you need to buy and it's just like following a recipe.

Depends on how your plumbing is set up, if you have a push fit system then it's easy, if you have copper pipe it's a little more complicated but still not onerous.

The B&Q kits are great, make sure you buy one with a cut off valve so you can stop the supply to the pipe in winter (and generally when not using it)
