I don't have the income to be a collector, but I love Nike, and New Balance.

just got some flyknit ones and nb 565s. Both great to wear and look at.

Some Lovely NB for sale at the moment. They have outlet in Kendal which has some decent bargains if you are every up that way

People collect trainers?

I've got a pair of these for power lifting. They're so much better than regular trainers for squats.

Just put my Adidas Superstar 2 in the washing machine, and are currently hanging from my washing line.
They've got to pound the town centre pubs of Huddersfield tomorrow so gave them a clean pre semi-final.

Still love the original Sambas (the black leather ones with the stripes in white), am on my third pair now.

Also had a pair of navy Trimm Trabs years ago which I wore into the ground.

LA Trainers are the best looking Adidas ones IMO.

I've never bought trainers for anything other than running.
For decades I maintained a stock of three pairs, buying a new pair when the oldest wore out, usually through compression of the midsole or, sometimes, the outsole just wore out.
What they looked like was almost irrelevant to me, as they'd be a pale-mud colour pretty quick.
Once, at a leaving "do", I listened to a guy telling me which were "the best", "cool" or rare and which were not.
When he mentioned a type that I was quite keen on at the time as being "boring", I told him, without rancour or criticism, why they fitted my criteria and how my criteria were different from his and he looked at me as though I was mad.
Takes all sorts, doesn't it?
