I hope he suffers a painful, prolonged and agonising last few weeks/days. A dreadful human.

I'd like to commend him for his honourable efforts in what was a difficult task as Sinn Fein's chief negotiator in the Northern Ireland peace process.

It seems Martins poor heart has upset the apple cart somewhat. Where now for NI?

More admirable to fight for independence and then fight for peace rather than fight for oil or abstract principles like democracy and then walk away from the mess you have created !

Yup war is a nasty business. People die,

Is only bad when English people in England die.

If Iraqis or Syrians or Libyans that die is that alright.

McGuiness was a soldier who now campaigns for peace. Which is what your first link illustrates.

McGuiness was a soldier

That's an insult to professional soldiers around the world. He has never been a soldier. A thug with a gun and beret isn't a soldier.

Here are a few more examples of insults to professional soldiers.

Thugs with uniforms and a British flag.

Bloody Sunday. And many more.

Oh look, Durham Giant crying a river for us all again.

As for McGuinness - a slow, lingering, agonising death is the best thing for that man. He was the engine room behind the IRA during their most active years and while the headlines were bad enough, some of the unpublicised acts he was involved in go far beyond the cause of a 'freedom fighter' and into the realms of pure evil.
