With regards Gove, isn’t it funny that it only comes out once he joins the leadership race to be PM?

Not when you know that someone was about to reveal it to the press anyway - so he's used his wife and Mr Murdoch, to whom he has always been a faithful lapdog, to try and get in front of the story and manage the message in his own way.

Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.

We have drug testing in sport and many other work places. Why don’t our mp’s face random drug tests, with their seat going to a by election for any that fail.

Drug use should be decriminalised, not further outlawed and greater punishable penalties being enforced for their use (and don’t mix up use with growing, dealing and trafficking - they should still be criminalised).

The more you restrict and outlaw drug use, the more underworld activity there is. More illegal money changing hands, more robberies, more kidnappings, more violence, more murders, more health complications and more of the dark world activity (human trafficking, child exploitation and abuse etc.) due to the underworld growing and darker areas growing within it with people/organisations becoming more secretive and getting away with more because these people/organisations activities are harder to detect.

Since Portugal decriminalised drug use in 2009 there have been far fewer robberies, kidnappings, murders, STIs, drug related diseases (infections through sharing needles, for example), overdoses and less underworld activity.

They are the people who make the laws, if they are not able to stick to them they don’t deserve to hold such a privileged position.

Sport and construction are not the only sectors to look upon unfavourably on drug taking, most public sector workers would lose their jobs if they were caught doing so.

Since when have the people that make the laws ever stuck to any of them?

Enacting illegal wars, illegal financial activity and going against what they said they’d do in their manifestos are far more serious crimes than the odd joint or line they’ve had in their past.

I completely agree and would support the decriminalisation of drugs.

However if the lawmakers (mps) aren’t willing to do this, which they are not, we should at least make them stick to the laws they enforce on others. This is why I suggested drug testing them, as they are known drug users.
