Surely it is just an extension of what is already in place?

Well, firstly - we don’t know what to expect because nothing has been decided and agreed, and time is running out to put in place new systems and additional capacity.

Secondly, we’re losing our existing trade arrangement not just with the EU, but most of those made through the EU have not been replaced. Switzerland and a few other places apart. There’s no guarantee that even when they are replaced, it’ll be a copy and paste job. For example, based on a quick internet search, it seems that the EU trades with China, India, and quite a few other countries through a Preferential Trade Arrangement.

Switching to basic WTO will be a change there as well, I’m guessing.

There are countries we do trade on WTO terms with, but this a big change in how we operate - kinda of a main point of Brexit, wasn’t it? And it needs a big effort to prepare - otherwise it’ll be under resourced and at risk of failure.

yay, good for you. Shame it doesn't prevent you from being a prize pr4t.

I work for companies that turn over billions, but you keep prattling on if it makes you feel special.

So you will aware of what is required to trade on WTO terms and how smooth it can be - that AAT has come in handy for you :D
Please, ACA.

Yes, very it's smooth. Partly because we sea-freight our USD bought stuff in so there's weeks to get the paperwork sorted. And partly because we spend around £150k a year on a team of people who get that paperwork sorted. And then we pay around £1m each month in duty and import VAT. I had forgotten how much you Tories love paperwork and taxes.

Boris Johnson makes Evgeny Lebedev - son of a KGB spy - a lord. Looking forward to the Johnson fans' take on that one. I wonder if it's got anything to do with that Italian house party Johnson attended? Kompromat, maybe?

What's that got to do with anything other than false equivalence and whataboutery?

wow, you've been reading something other than the takeaway menu... impressed. Welcome to the new world.

Nothing Boris does is right for you, that is why the lunatic left fail time and time again, void of thinking beyond politics of hate.

So you approve of Lebedev in the House of Lords? A simple yes or no will suffice.
