Wondering if anyone knows anything about Bluetooth?
I recently purchased a Loewe Speaker 2go wireless speaker and have been having problems connecting it to my laptop with Bluetooth. The speaker pairs and works perfectly with my phone - a Samsung Galaxy S4. I have a Sony Vaio (VPCCW1Z4E), running Windows 7 64-bit and am using an ASUS USB-BT400 Bluetooth dongle. I have the most up-to-date drivers provided on the ASUS website. When I check the drivers in Device Manager, it also says that they're up to date. I think that the dongle uses Broadcom technology and I have downloaded the software update utility from Broadcom's website, but this never works. The problem that I'm having is that while I am able to discover the Speaker 2go on the Bluetooth Add a Device page and I am also able to pair it with my laptop, I am unable to actually connect the two devices. Once the devices are paired and I open the Bluetooth Device Control page for the speaker. There is no button giving the option for me to connect to the speaker, it simply says 'Disconnected' underneath its icon. With other devices, a 'Connect' button is usually present. I've also noticed that when I pair the device, no drivers or 'Bluetooth Peripheral Devices' are installed. This is also something that usually happens when pairing other devices. When I remove the speaker from my Bluetooth Devices page and go back to the Add a Device page, I can right-click on the Speaker 2go icon and click Properties. This brings up a window with two tabs - Services and Bluetooth. In the Services tab, there are six items that can be checked/ticked - Audio Sink, Handsfree Telephony, Headset, Remote Control, Remotely Controllable Device and Serial Port (SPP). I'm fairly certain that these are what is supposed to be downloaded when I pair the speaker with the laptop. I've tried ticking all the boxes and clicking on Apply to try and download them manually but that brings up a Bluetooth Error Message saying 'The parameter is incorrect'. At a loss as to what to do next and was wondering if anyone had any tips, otherwise I'm just going to have to stick with the AUX cable. Cheers. |
