Can anybody offer any advice here?

I tried to create a youtube account for my daughter using her email address, when it says that I need to create a google account to sign in.

Upon trying to create a google account, when using my daughters email address it says this is already registered to a google acc.

So I try to sign in,don't know the password so try and reset the password.

It then tells me that I will need to have a reset code sent to the mobile number linked to the account, but the number linked shows the last 2 digits that are nothing like any numbers we have, mine my wife's or my daughters so we can't reset the password.


So I can't reset the password as the email is already in use with details we know nothing about. I've tried the help pages on google and it just takes me round in circles, usually to the password reset and the telephone number issue and there doesn't seem to be a uk landline number to call to try and sort this out.

I'm not bothered about not been able to create the account, more the fact that it's already created with my daughters email and so embody else's details.

Any ideas where to go next?

I have a similar problem with my sky account even online help couldn't help me, was told i had to use another email to open a new account.

When you say "it's already created with my daughters email" what sort of email address is it? Is it a gmail email address and has your daughter been happily sending and receiving emails using this email address?

If so she must have already been able to log into Google to do this.

If you are trying to create a Google account and so are making up a gmail email address for your daughter it is obviously possible someone has already chosen an identical email address.

The easiest way around it is to create a new account with a different gmail email address.
