just watched that game against wigan, what a good old game that was, fax from the second division just lost out to wigan and all there stars, big brendan hill having a stormer and scoring fax's only try, plenty of bust ups, and guess what, bren was involed in most of them,lol, pluss he was put in the sin bin,lol,

anyway ive now done with the game, if anybody is interested in it,you can have it free of charge, only thing is, its on vhs, it was recorded by micron video, pm me if interested

not been into watching rugby for long... coming up to 4th season as a fax fan but im searching through youtube for fax games before i got into watching and (before i was born (this game being 1 of those))

Hi mate, would love a copy of this if you can, I went to that final, remember running on the pitch afterwards and bumping in Ellery Hanley thinking he wasn't that big!

I've got this on video still too. I think there should still be a secondary cup.....we proved against Cas last year that the underdog can do well. Especially in a secondary cup where the big boys rest a few

Surely our Semi win at Central Park against Saints in 1990 has to one of the biggest upsets in RL history? If a NL 1 team beat a top SL team in the Semi Final nowadays then it would surely be big news?

2010 prediction....Fax to stick 80 past an amature team in round 1.....round 2, easily beat Batley at home, lucky draw at home to Leigh in round three and a home tie to the Bulls in round 4. After an early scare we realise that they are just a 2nd rate makeshift SL team and roll them over with a team full of players who want to play for Fax...Hobson takes Paul out...oops, that's the past....erm, I mean...Rikki Sheriffe......how embarrassing. God I'd love to draw Bills4!t at The Shay, We'd do them.

Agree completely, we really should have another cup competition. It'd bring in much needed revenue for the smaller clubs and create some extra interest besides the Challenge Cup. I remember some great Regal Trophy contest at Mount Pleasant against the big guns, drawing against St.Helens in 1994 and taking some other notable top flight scalps over the years. If the Super Duper clubs don't like it (too many games, whinge...whinge...whinge...), they can always pick weakened teams like Premier League sides do in football's League Cup.
The main issue I'm highlighting here is the financial gains another cup competition might bring for the smaller clubs. The likelihood of drawing a top flight outfit in either the Yorkshire Cup or Regal Trophy was a major boost to the coffers of a small club like my own. Imagine the benefits at the moment for someone like Keighley Cougars should they draw Leeds Rhinos away in a Yorkshire Cup competition! They'd easily take away £50'000 from the game that would help to keep them afloat.
Ending those competitions did nothing for the game and was simply an example of the RL authorities bowing to pressure from the big boys.

Like a European cup so we don't have to babysit French clubs forever more?
