We just dont know the answer to that one. Without seeing the bid for Salford, Castleford, Hull KR (dont mention the french, welsh or cockneys) we cant really say if our bid is any better.

On the surface the only thing they have which is better is the attendance, which is because they play Superleague teams week in week out and dont have to add in attendances such as Barrow, Whitehaven, Sheffield etc (who we all know bring very little to the overall numbers).

That said we dont know anything about their other application criteria.

I dont think it will surprise anyone when the current crop of Superleague teams get a licence and Widnes are swapped for Wakefield.

Probably not as until you are given the chance to get bigger crowds from being in it first, as everyone knows the moment you are regularly on t.v the crowds increase dramatically. Sky money means a hell of a lot not just for buying the team but for the balance sheet etc. The only thing is the Stadium is built. but without being given the chance to go forward where would the world be today ?.

Its a bit like job applications, Everyone wants experience but is unwilling to let people gain that knowledge in the first place

I have no interest in the Sky circus parade as its a farce. I have nothing against Widnes and wish them well. But the way the RFL are destroying the game and the way the big clubs are only interested in themselves stinks. Clubs like Batley, Hunslet, Rochdale etc are just as important and deserve as much help as these expansion clubs and the likes of Wigan, Bradford etc. The sooner the likes of Lewis and that fat Twit Wood bugger off the better. Rugby League is a sport and yet it does not seem to matter what you do on the field its the politics and rubbish off it that they want. I have personal experience of idiots in Rugby League pushing through there own agenda. Its this attitude that is pushing myself and others away from the game

You wont get many, if any, Widnes fans disagreeing with you there.

We haven't asked for franchises or even want them, all we have done is work to them and I still dont trust the RFL over this years applications. I certainly dont think your out of it by a long way.

Ditto what A.N.Other say's. Whatever happens come 31st March, I wish Fax all the very best whether that be in SL or the Championship. Widnes fans have been accused of arrogance recently, some of it justified but unfortunatley we didnt make the rules we are just trying to abide by them.

Its going to be a long 7 days. Whoever doesnt get the nod I'm afraid will probably never be in SL in its current format, sad but true!!

Yep the banter aside I like the Widnes fans and they have been shafted by the RFL a few times in the past. I am a Rugby League fan rather than just a Fax fan and its sad and hurts to see so many clubs struggling and I have respect for the work people do at places like gateshead, South Wales but also the "Old" clubs like Batley, Desbury, Rochdale, Swinton etc. The RFL should be looking to help everybody not just a select few. If and I very much doubt it that Fax end up in SL I am still very interested in the Championship Clubs and whats going on. I hope that one day in the future we can get back to Promotion & Relegation. Sadly I cant see it happening whilst the lunatics at Sky/Red Hall keep ruining the game. Best of luck Widnes.

Well said Black Cat. To be honest i have got upset with my team performing crap and would love promotion and relegation every year.But Widnes are just working with the RFL rules mate.I admit like to see alot of British players playing professional, than a team of aussies at Catlans or Crusaders.Anyway i hope the RFL go by the rules, if not the youth system was a waste of time.We may aswell saved the money and bought rough championship players. If we do get into Superleague, i would still want to win things as any supporter does.
