That first half performance was so bad most Fax fans sat in almost total silence - IN SHOCK. It was a point a minute on 30 minutes and we were looking at a 70 pointer at that point plus they had missed a few kicks! This to the poorest Widnes team since they came down to our league, their defence was nearly as bad as ours but the tries they scored were just so easy, our defence is now the worst in the Championship, (ok York have played a game less but had nearly half of their points against came in one game ironically at Widnes) but ours have been against all the teams we have played so far averaging over 35 a game. It was getting close to a Faz level of performance tonight and that says a lot really.
Things are now coming to a head I feel, surely we will beat Dewsbury but if not the Board must change things quickly otherwise we will lose all the gains we made from last year, we have lost a lot of that already but the Bradford game is a big worry as on current form its a 60 or 70 pointer. A new man would need at least 2 games to make a start on turning things around before we play them.

the same faz level that saved us from relegation 1 minute the to a semi the next on a budget no where near todays level?????
And the same Fax team that were shipping a point per minute in the first half that were capable enough to snatch a bonus point at the end ? This really is becoming boring, reading all the slating of the individual players, the coaching staff, the board for not sacking the coach blah, blah, blah.... I'm surprised none of this is the council or James Robert's fault !
I mention the bonus point & was going to start a new topic about it, but it seemed appropriate to slip it into this topic, so, as a fan of it over the previous few seasons, and having been flamed on this messageboard along with other posters for backing the bonus point, any of you down-trodded badly done to lifelong fans of our club grateful of the the three that we've managed out of five losses, or would you prefer no bonus point and one win for your three points ? Picking up a bonus point in the face of such a first half thrashing says either of a couple of things to me: Either, Widnes ran out of steam, or gave up ( as if ? ) OR, Halifax players do actually have a bit of spirit about them. I know which one I'd rather have, thank you for the bonus points.
OR without it we'd be on a big fat zero and then the situation would really show how badly we've performed. I'm not against bonus points and they've given everyone a great deal of entertainment over the last few years but they do sometimes help paper over the cracks.
Hope without planning is about as futile as waiting for a harvest without planting

I too am a fan of the "bonus point", but the fact is 5 losses no bonus point available 10 behind, 5 losses with bonus point 12 points behind.
