Lol, well who would have thought it, Graeme Smith? Actually, despite the amusing nature of it, it says something about your coaches capacity to offend other supporters. I was delighted to hear that on this occasion he gave a really balanced view of the match. . . maybe Mr Nobles influence shown to be not just on the pitch.

Anyhow, I put my post here because there are some Halifax supporters still blaming the ref for your loss, which really stretches the imagination, and yes, I know there are also some on here who said you were generously treated by him. I actually thought the refereeing was ok, if a little odd at times, but isn't it always?

So apologies for including the wrong quote.. . . but calm down with the insults!! Don't be so shallow next time!

Quite the worst decision he made was when your player kicked the ball away at our play the ball under the sticks. He gave us the penalty which we took for 2 points but surely it was a professional foul and should have resulted in 10 mins in the bin.

To play a man down in that heat could well have been just a bit too much for any team.

I agree that some of his others were, shall we say, ones to think about!

I thought the ref was at least consistant. Neither team did a great job of getting onside and the markers were never square but it was the same for both sides so no complaints there. Only real question of the ref i have is when we scored in the second half Penky kicks through and is taken out by the FB, was pretty blatent and the ref looked like he was going to pull it but shouldnt this have been a sin binning by the letter of the law, taking out the kicker? Whats the actual ruling for this? I dont think the ref affected the result of the game though and as has been said i thought Batley were the better team. this inferiority complex that a few Batley fans have is actually a little funny.

No complaints from me Bob I thought the ref gave some strange ones but our Fax side got plenty in there favour when it could have easily gone to you guys.
We were poor and back to how we have been in the earlier games, cannot complete a set of six and cannot defend a set.
Get your selves up Fax and well played Batley.

The ref wasn't great, but sod that. What a fantastic spectacle that was today, between two sets of part-time professionals in blistering heat. Even if my team hadn't won, I'd still have been able to look back and appreciate what a superb encounter it was. Incredible stuff. Some might scoff, but a number of Championship sides, with the benefit of full-time training, wouldn't look out of place in the lower end of Super League. Some of the players are actually of a better standard than those who occupy places in SL squads. What a great competition the Championship is.

Great spectacle today between 2 fully committed sides on a roasting.

Even at 22-6 I thought we were along way from safe, and once you got your noses in front I honestly thought that was it, as you were dominant in terms of both territory and possession. But, we have a great spirit this year and a 'never say die' atttitude, which saw us turn it around.

Very impressed with Penkyowicz for you guys, a class player. Him and Tiger Handforth the 2 best players on the pitch.

Really good day all in all, including some banter with the Fax fans behind the goal. Had to laugh at the 'bus stop in Dewsbury' chant.

Really pleasing to see quite a larger number of your fans clapping our team at the end as they came to applaud us. Thats what RL is all about.

Good luck for the rest of the season, except for your trip to the Mount of course, and hope you enjoy your day in Blackpool as much as we did last year.

Thanks for mis-quoting me. I was actually just having a tongue in cheek pop. I thought the referee was equally bad for both sides and made soem weird decisiions.

I actually did say that I thought Batley were the better team and deserved the win.

I am also struggling to find where anyone actually says that the referee caused our loss?

No sour grapes here. We didnt play to our potential and your team did, end of. Well done.
