Being a Loyal Leigh fan I just want to say what a credit you guys are. Fantstic day in Blackpool yesterday, great banter with you all and brilliant after the match. You are a credit to your club and the whole of RL well done! Hope we see you again in the play offs especially the final, what a day that would be for both clubs!

Cheers good time was had restoring my faith in RL fans proving we are NOT a bunch of thugs and hopefully will put to bed the incidents at Fev this season as remember we LOST yet there was NO TROUBLE.
Funny thing is only got two bits of 'winners sarcasm' after the game, one from a couple of Leythers who then apologised and said hard lines and the other was from guess who???
A Fev fan in the Dutton Arms later on saying how glad he was we lost and it was some kind of 'revenge' for their semi final defeat becuase they are the best team in our league!

They really are bitter its got to them hasn't it, worrying really as they are getting more and more wound up about us, even the Leythers we met detest Fev, again worrying as I hate to think what will happen if they both meet in the Play Offs as they surely will.
But lets go back to the positives and I thought our support was fantastic, lots of flags, balloons and colour well done all

Lets look at it another way, the local constabulary didnt feel the need to get mounted units out, or have dog units stationed near to the ground, I wasn't videoed by a PCSO with a Handycam as I went about my business and I saw about 4 coppers in the ground.

I'd imagine, given there was some problems at Fev, they will have done their homework on Halifax, see what chance there was we'd take a contingent of fans looking for a bust up, and from what I saw yesterday, they'd probably concluded that it wasn't gonna kick off,

There were 2/3 bobbies stationed at our end after the game but I think that was because one or two kids in our end did a quick lap of the in goal area in the midst of celebrating Armstrong's try.

I heard stories from 'fax & Leigh fans prior to the game on sunday around the pubs that some Fev fans were causing trouble the previous evening with both Fax & Leigh supporters. I'm sure I'm not the only messageboard user who heard these stories, certainly one or two Leigh fans witnessed incidents.

Heard the same stories but took them with a shovel of salt to be honest. These sorts of things can become Chinese whispers very easily.

It's just hearsay unless you can hold your hand up and honestly say "I saw it". Chinese whispers indeed.

I heard there were some Fev fans there, who'd booked the hotel ect before the semi, if thats the case then probably genuine fans wanting a good rugbyleague day out regardless of the teams in the final (though obviously like most, wanting to see their team in the final at time of booking)

Thats the most likely explanation, then with the chinese whispers, it becomes "A coach load" "2 coaches" ect

Joking aside, the occasion was fantastic on TV, very engrossing and probably the best game I've seen all season.
