Sat here working at home and I'll be honest I feel sick in my stomach. I didn't expect us to get in if what we thought was true in that Wakey came down but for todays turn of events to take place it's like pouring vinegar in a cut. I was prepared for the decision and being in a bad mood for a few days and having a moan etc but after that farce I feel physically sick and angry. You could see Lewis looking across during the announcements like a rabbit in headlights.

I fully expect our crowds to drop now, they shouldnt but I suspect they will, people do lose interest and fall out of love with the game due to things like this. Coupled with the rumours of the Thursday night TV games moving to Premier then I can see the game struggling more perhaps, less exposure.

So, what now, anyone any ideas as I feel deflated with it all and the game in general now.

Maybe it's time for the money that was rumoured to be waiting to be put in if we got a licence to be invested now?

And would this make a difference in 3 years time to be knocked back again?

As long as Lewis & Wood are in charge of the RFL we will NEVER see Super League.

Even if a team like Harlequins go bust, they would reduce the league to 13 teams rather than let Halifax in. The fat controller has one hell of a grudge against Halifax RLFC.

On the bright side, Super League has evolved into a game thats sometimes unentertaining.
We would have struggled at the foot of the table with no play-offs to fight for and no relegation to fear. Unless Bradford or Huddersfield were really struggling at the foot of the table, our average attendances would have been around the 4000 mark.

On the downside, no chance of promotion will decrease attendances from now, as the hope has gone for many fans. I think our attendances peaked last season in the HOPE of the ultimate goal.

When I try to introduce a new fan to the sport, they laugh when you tell them there is no promotion as say "Whats the point? I'm paying that sort of money to find you can't be rewarded for success".

Oh well, as a Halifax citizen, good luck to the shaymen in their quest for ultimate success in their quest for a position back into the Football league, only 2 promotions away. A sport that gives fans real HOPE.

Too early for a rational decision from me, I will probably see the season out but if we were to be at the grand final at the weekend I don't think it would mean a great deal at the moment I feel that gutted, not by not getting in but the way in which we have not got in.

If the board and club recover and rally round then I will most likely be back next year.

To be honest i am sick of seeing the same teams week in week out, I would prefer to be up in SL getting beaten a more times than watching games of 76-38 and the likes. In this league its always going to be Halifax, Leigh, Fev, Batley, Sheffield and Barrow in the top 6, and will be for 3 more years, playing each other sometimes 5 or 6 times a year. ( 2 x League, Possible 2 x NRC, playoffs ).

And after this years debacle with fixtures due to sheffield having nowhere to play from it makes a mockery of Championship let alone SL.
