Salary Cap Restrictions : Mon Sep 19, 2011 11:32 am
After having a little look of what could be in the league next year i really do fear for the future of Championship Rugby, I really do not know where the money will come from to operate on a £300k budget of 40% of your turnover. With the likes of the following clubs coming in and widnes going out the gate receipts are going to go through the floor.
1, Swinton
2, Workington
3, Sheffield
4, Hunslet
5, Crusaders
6, Barrow ( if not relegated ) No traveling fans
6, Bately ( Getting a Increase on Attendences )
7, Halifax
8, Leigh
9, Featherstone
10, Whoever else they put in to replace tolouse.
Next year i can see even more salary cap breaches as Clubs business projections and forecasts are not met. Leigh Need a Buyer, Featherstone are going to be struggleing with extra cash as they are doing the ground up and buying stands etc, Fax havn't won any silverware this year which means less cash than last, Batley will be the same as most years recently, Consistantly decent on a shoestring budget, Crusaders, No team, No coach, No ground, No fans, No point to be honest, dont want you watering down what is already struggleing, Sheffield No fans hardly at all. Swinton, Workington and Hunslet all new editions to the Championship and will take time to adjust and increase their fans.
All in all i feel it is going to be a very hard slog for all clubs next year.
