Neil's Notes v Hunslet/Away Travel York : Mon Mar 12, 2012 1:55 pm
Even with all the injuries we were still able to put a side out that was strong in all departments and it is not just the forwards that are following Rhinos lead in the touch tackling as Ben Heaton, Anthony Thackeray and Lee Paterson showed. Lee might be back at the right time for his goal kicking alone with the injuries our goal kickers are picking up. Tiger looked quite confident though when he took over duties.Once again though a forward took the Hitman award sponsored by Halifax RLFC Players Association. Joe Chandler put in 100% in both attack and defence. Peter Jarvis another former no nonsence prop presented the award. Adam Robinson who was also in the running again picked up the sponsors Man of the Match award. With his strong running from outside his early career position as a centre came to the fore. Adam also picked up the Shay Lounge award as well and gets 3 points in the season long competition with Ryan Fieldhouse 2nd with 2 points and Anthony Thackeray 3rd with 1 point. Ryan takes a early season lead with 6 points followed by Jim Gannon and Adam on 3.
In Club 1873 we have record numbers of 166. The first draw was made after the Hunslet game and Joan Nicholl number 89 won the £20 voucher 1st prize and 2nd with a £15 voucher was Elaine Bradley. The next draw is at the Good Friday game against Keighley.
The half time draw winning number was 2661 picking up £227.
