And I'm also sure that if they had taken the bulk of the team up with them they would have got a lot more respect from the Champ supporters.

I beg to differ. They spent the full cap on dross for the last 3 years in the cc after they went bust. If they hadn't won the cup that year, they would have struggled.

SOC would have done what he needed to! He has the wherewithall to do so. Whether it represents intelligent spending etc remains open to debate, but he would have recruited a team ven Denis could have guided to ticking a box.
The RFL just needed them to justify their actions after kicking off when they were left out of the jolly up in 09.

What a disaster for the Widnes fans. This isn't how you'd want your return to SL to play out is it? Grim.
