Final score Halifax 28 York 44. (I think as I started to lose count at the end.)

Fax started brightly enough going 16 nil up, York coming back to have a 16 - 18 half time lead.

Play was pretty even stevens second half with York taking their chances better to come out on top.

Penalties were decisive in the build up to the vast majority of the scores for either side.

Great to see the young guns playing some good RL, well done both sides.

That's it at the Shay for them this season but we're up and running.

Yeah, a fair assessment Faxcar really. I thought the lads started fantastic & were good value for their 16 nil lead but a couple of errors & penalties starved the lads of possession in parts & York took their chances fair & square. Hopefully most of the lads who don't progree to U23's next season will be retained and will be better for this first season's experience. Big shout to Gannon & Gonzo for the way they've prepared the boys & to the support staff & medical team who've worked hard for the lads to make things run as smoothly as possible which isn't always easy especially with three of the five fixtures midweek and two of those were away to York & Leigh. Having lost the home fixture to Keighley to the bad weather the lads ended up playing once at home & four times away from home.
Hilda, take a bow, last night's tannoy announcements were absolutely fantastic, great banter, Mike Riley your time as Mike the mic is up on Hilda's debut performance haha !

Promising signs for the future & a great attendance last night.

Yes mate it's well worth coming down and anyone who has not had chance this year well pencil a couple of games in next season.
You will be pleasantly surprised by the standard of the games theirs some good stuff on display.

You don't have to pay to get in but if you can drop a couple of quid, a £5 or whatever you feel happy with then great, it all helps to pick up the tab.

There's the food van on for tea, burgers bar open etc, when we get a nice summers evening you could do a lot worse.

fax 23s 60 york 4, ( i think,lol) lost count with the amount of times i was running on the field with the kicking t,lol, holroyd 4 tries stead 3 was the highlight for the lads, but all in all a great team performance,,

Thanks Sean for the update couldn't make it last night and also for posting when the games were being played, only started watching them late on in the season because of your posts.

If the competition exists next year as the RL are looking to introduce SL areas, so our lads would have to play for a Bradford academy or Hudds academy dependant on which area Fax are in!! The RFL are determined to not let clubs outside SL develop and currently our set up matches many SL clubs standards as does Fev etc! It all stinks to high heaven but the rumour mill would have me believe there is a distinct possibility that U23 / U18s might not be allowed next season for Championship clubs as the RFL won't let us mix it with the SL boys as us Fev, Leigh etc might just embarrass them!! Disgusting!!!

Chris if this is the case it beggers beleife and this sort of thing really touches a nerve with me and I will try not to rant.

For example.

The rugby league "one big family" statement where we all "pull together" is often banded about by these comfort zone RL boys and tv pundits when in front of the camera.
What a joke, it should read "one big back stabbing hypocrytical family" when the cameras aren't there.

All them years when the game was under threat from the outside such as when the rugby union boys treat us like lepers.
If that wasn't bad enough but to be annexed and back stabbed by your own really cuts it for me.What sort of family would do that to their own.
These lot are doing more damage to our game than anything that has ever being done before or is ever likely to be done again.
I'm going outside to smash something up.
