This is what happens when you let a man of Richard Lewis' calibre leave the sport. If Nigel left, the game would lose the Heinz Big Soup sponsorship. Can we afford it?

they think RFL do not need funding as could afford to give free sponsorship to eddie

Perhaps we could try model ourselves on British Swimming
I see Maurice Watkins is already working with them as their chairman.

Isn't it about time Nigel Wood's competence was questioned by the member clubs? He takes home a large pay (probably the going rate) and he needs to justify his money.

Quite right Brew, but, who can do it. It's quite clear that the top Super league clubs are happy with things as they are, they would have never let Bradford go under, hence many clubs donating to them.
Leeds, Warrington, St Helens, Bradford, Wigan, Huddersfield and one of the Hull's would be very happy if their league consisted of, now let me think? ah yes, Leeds, Warrington, St Helens, Bradford, Wigan, Huddersfield and one of the Hulls

Any other business the Board would be challenged and held to account if the fabric of that business was crumbling before their very eyes! Despite the spin the RFL Directors put on it re highest average Super league attendances, second most viewed sport on Sky etc, there is no doubt that having half your flagship club members in 'elite' Superleague in financial difficulty, lost funding from Sport England to the tune of £10m for community rugby,passing over selection criteria on franchise to suit clubs wanted, putting roadblocks up to stop player pathways-U23's fiasco etc,shows that the WHOLE game is in need of a restructure starting with those at the top! rant over - Happy New Year to ALL true RFL supporters especially to all those associated with Fax.
