Melbourne Storm, the current NRL Premiers have arrived in England to prepare for their World Club Challenge against Super League Champions Leeds Rhinos. As part of this preparation Melbourne have requested an opposed training session against Halifax RLFC on Tuesday 19th February here at The Shay Stadium. Part of this training session will be held behind closed doors but members of the public will be able to watch the second half of the session (30 to 45 minutes) starting at approximately 5:30pm. There will be two ways to watch the Storm training at The Shay:-
Sponsors, Executive Members and Season Ticket Holders
The Harveys Banqueting Suite will be open from 4:30pm but will be for a limited number of ticket holders. Tickets will be available to purchase from The Shay Ticket office (accessed from the car park at the East Stand) this Sunday from 1:30pm at a cost of £2.50 for adults and concessions. Entry is free for Under 16s but please note that tickets are still required. Tickets will also be on sale in the Banqueting Suite on Sunday. Tickets are strictly one per season ticket holder and you will need to show your card when purchasing and also upon entry. Any remaining tickets will be available from the Ticket office on Tuesday evening.
We will be showing the Halifax RLFC v Melbourne Storm DVD in the Banqueting Suite before the training session and afterwards will be holding interviews with a couple of the members of both teams. The Rugby League World Cup trophy will also be on display after the session for photo opportunities.
General Public
Turnstiles at the East Stand will be open from 4:30pm on the Tuesday. Admission prices are £2.50 for adults and concessions and Under 16s will be admitted free of charge. The Supporters Bar will be open with access from inside the concourse and food and drinks will also be available from the kiosk. The Rugby League World Cup trophy will be on display in the concourse for photo opportunities.
Closed Training Session
Please note that there will be no access to the seats or pitchside areas until the closed training session has been completed. The blinds will be closed and stewarded in the Banqueting Suite and the shutters in the concourse will also be closed. These will all be opened immediately once the closed session has finished for access to the stand.
Car Parking
Please note that car parking at the Stadium will be at a premium with extremely limited spaces so please make alternative arrangements.
