Three or more likely four teams of 10 team divisions would be my preference for the next few years to be honest.
Last Sunday, on Radio Leeds after the Fax game and before the Jamie Bloom interview their was a discussion with some bloke who , I think is the editor of a new Rugby League magazine 40 -20 and he said exactly that. 4 leagues 10 in each league, and guess what, promotion and relegation. He saw this as the only way forward, inded the only nway to save Rugby League.

Yes I heard it, Tony Hannon from Keighley. Lovely bloke, did his coaching courses with me many years ago. He once sent me some books & stuff for an auction when i was connected with a junior club in our district.
Don't you think that the second tier of teams which would obviously include the lesser four SL teams, us, Fev, Batley, Sheffield, Leigh & an expansion area club ie; Toulouse would be better than a fourteen team Championship ? And with mr. Hannon's notion of one up & one down it sounds like it's got some legs in it.

Yes, it would certainly be more attractive and competative. Take today, Batley will win, Leigh will win, Sheffield will win and Featherstone will win. This means that tonight the League will be the same as it was yesterday morning. Easter Monday, Featherstone will win, Leigh will win we will win, Batley and Sheffield should win so again no change. The only games that excite under the present format are when the top five teams are playing each other. A league as you say of ten, four SL Teams us Batley, Featherstone, Leigh, Sheffield and one more would be far more competative and bring some of the crowds back. I would be more than happy to bring Toulouse back, it is a club more steeped in Rugby League history as, London, Sheffield, Wales etc and a cracking away fixture. The problem with Toulouse is, like Sheffield that means two home games where the opposition bring no fans to the table, however none of the remaining teams would. A strong Cumbrian side would be nice. On promotion relegation, would you meet me halfway? two up, two down. Anyway Colin, if your doing two till ten, what are you doing up at this time?
ps, just watch all my match predictions above go completely wrong.

We get good friday off, so i got up to go to the gym 'cos they're only open 9am-3pm today & I want to watch the RL on sky at noon. It's nowt being a shift worker tha knows lad. My theory on gyming today is, i'll probably have too much beer tonight so that'll rule tomorrow gym out & it's closed on sunday but as i posted yesterday we're out on the razzle later in the day sunday so that'll rule gym out on monday. It's a very complex issue mixing this lifestyle of drinking & healthy exercise. How the hell did we win all those trophies & cups in the 80's when the lads trained on John Armitage's Tetley bitter in the Plummet line ????
