Great day out yesterday. I managed to meet up with all my Fev mates at some point or other pre-match & chew the cud, take the pi$$ out of each other, especially over the recent reserve match brawl & ensuing crowd disturbance

For those of you who have never played RL on a hillside, it's far more difficult getting back onside running backwards uphill than it is downhill. We looked shot to pieces in the 2nd half & couldn't stay the pace.
Most people want us running downhill second half.... it's twice as bad getting back up the slope to defend... especially for a fat lad!

The crowd/atmosphere: Awesome effort by both sets, but I ask this question, if Fev & Fax weren't such a keen rivalry this last few years would a crowd this size have turned up at any other fixture with the current 14 teams in this division ?
Absolutely not. Now without wanting deliberately bring Warrington 2010 into it again.... that day was sh yte for a whole host of reasons... especially for Fev and particularly for Dave SInger.
However, since then, Fax/Fev games have had an edge to them.
Now I don't necessarily find that a bad thing. Without that edge I wouldn't have met you, James at the UFO gig, Mick, John Mart and many others. Folks I would quite happily enjoy a pot with and discuss diets n stuff!!!
The games are well attended now that rivalry exists and no we wouldn't get anywhere near that crowd but for that rivalry.
I enjoy games that have an edge. I can't do wi all the sh yte that goes with it from a very very small minority of both sides!
