Neil's Notes v York : Mon Jul 29, 2013 10:56 am
It was a day in the Championship when all games despite positions in the League were very tight. Luckily we just managed to sneak past York but Featherstone and Batley just failed. It makes life at the top very tight and even more important we get a result at Leigh on Wednesday, Ko 7.30. The coach leaves at 5.45 and costs £10 with juniors £5.Also taking bookings for next Sunday for our trip to Barrow. We leave at 10.30. £13 adults and juniors £6.
Club 1873 draw against York saw Phil Coventry number 37 first out winning the £25 voucher and Simon Drinkwater number 27 the £20 voucher.
Craig Ashall was the pick for the Hitman award sponsored by Halifax RLFC Players Ass. There were also one or two other contenders saving our line on a number of occasions against a strong York side.
The Golden Gamble half time draw winning number was 6974 picking up £174.
The Shay lounge Player of Season saw Wayne Reittie 1st with 3 points, 2nd Anthony Thackeray with 2 points and Dane Manning 3rd with 1 point. Anthony leads as we reach the final 2 games with 16 points followed by Scott Murrell on 12 with Sam Barlow, Wayne and Rob Worrincy on 6 with Ryan Fieldhouse and Paul Handforth on 5.
Voting slips for the Supporters Player of the season will be issued at the Batley game with the presentation of the awards in the banqueting suite along with the under 20 awards the week following our final league game. Watch out for final details.
