Strangly enough I had to miss a home game this week as I had something else on and I didn`t miss it anywhere near as much as I thought I would to be honest. The dishonesty in the game is what has started to put me off there are people connected to rugby league that have no integrity whatsoever.Although I turned a blind eye to it for years because of the love of the game and my club I now feel alienated too.
Y'know what, I'm really not missing attending matches as much as I expected I would do. It just feels like when I have other options & have a decision which choice to make, the watching rugby one seems to miss out. I think tv games, apart from the odd game have become boring, predictable & in the case of thursday evening Premier broadcasts, damned unreliable.
I just think the sport of RL on the whole is losing it's sparkle. I dearly love watching both my lads play for their teams & am very proud that son No.2 wears the Fax colours & has ambition ( and will hopefully represent England colleges in august ) in the game and that son No.1 has been starring at Greetland AllRounders, my other club of endearment, over the last few seasons but maybe i'm just getting too cynical & over-expentant of the game generally.
I haven't attended the Old Trafford shin dig for the last 3 occassions, I cannot see England winning the world cup again this year & have very little interest in the tournament, though am very pleased that the Shay got a fixture.
