Well what an exciting game. One minute we thought we had won it and the next Batley had got in front again. We played though right to the end and got our reward. Just one more win and we are assured of a top 4 spot.That could come this Thursday when we are at Keighley Ko 7.30. The supporters coach leaves at 6.00. Fare is £7 and juniors £4. The Hitman award sponsored by Halifax RLFC Players Ass yesterday went to another back, Ben Heaton who made some timely tackles as did a number of players just when Batley look likely scorers.
Once again for the 4th match running Wayne Reittie took the Man of the Match award in the Shay Lounge which puts him in 3rd place on 12 points with Scott Murrell still on 14 and Anthony Thackeray on 16. 2nd place yesterday went to Lee Paterson and 3rd Tony Tonks. It is now between Anthony and Scott to win the Shay Lounge Player of the Season with just one match to go.
The awards night for the Supporters Player of the Season takes place on Tuesday 3rd September in the Banqueting room at the Shay 7.30 for 8.00.Voting slips were issued at the match yesterday or you can book on line. The under 20's along with the Shay Lounge Player of Season will also be presented on the night. Entry is free.
In Club 1873 first out of the hat was Jon Crowther number 124 winning the £25 voucher and the £20 voucher went to Richard Kelsall number 49.
Half time draw winning number was 7728 picking up £283.
