I thought it was a fantastic match, the penalties given influenced the scoring, but I thought Thomason had a great game with the whistle in fairness. Keegan Hurst's dropped ball over the line could easily have been given as ripped out ! Will Sharp's try in the corner was from a massively forward pass but you win some & you lose some of those decisions throughout a game. Until the last 15mins & that stupid forward pass we'd played error-free, the penalties followed that error & we got what we deserved in the end. A BP at their place isn't such a bad thing but our performance was 10 times better than against Swinny last week. Potts at full back & Heaton on the wing had solid games, apart from Andy Ellis who made a few telling breaks late on, our forwards more than matched theirs. Optimism restored from me, unfortunately i'm unable to watch us leather Batterly next weekend due to a family party. Johnston on firmer grounds will give some opposition defenders problems if his early form is anything to go by.

That's exactly what I thought. It wasn't just penalties though - during the 60 minute period when the ref was favouring 'Fax, all the 505/50's went their way as well. Then suddenly it was as though someone had turned a switch and he started penalising them for stuff they'd been doing all the game.


I thought he was very inconsistent. He did Fev for not playing the ball correctly in the first half and then twice in the second half they got quick play the balls on the back of incorrect play the balls which resulted in us been done for not been square.

The less said about the missed drop out in the first half that lead to our sinbinning the better.

I dont think he was bad its just the inconsistencies that are annoying.
