Just reflecting on what a funny season it has been. I think most of us spent the first half of the season feeling disgruntled/disappointed with the performance of the team/Karl and the club. There were constant problems with the pitch during the bad weather, the club was silent, although most of us could see we had some good players the performances were inconsistent and we simply just didn't gel as a team. The competition has been fierce and there have been some surprising results throughout the league. I think I was about about to give up hope -however things have massively turned around. The team look and behave like a team - we have had some incredible performances from individuals and an unbeaten run of 9 games . I think Karl has really turned things around and I never thought I would be saying this but I actually hope he is staying ! The club have responded well to problems that have cropped up (Worrincy) - just check out Batley for an example of what could have happened there. We have also not involved ourselves with DR and look how that has turned out for some clubs. The club have also stepped up on communications and FaxTV has really helped - a fantastic success for all those involved. So things are generally much improved.
So do I think we can win on Sunday ? Yes I think we are more than capable but we will have to maintain composure and play to the last hooter. I sincerely hope we get 2nd but it actually won't be the end of the world for Fax if we don't - we haven't budgeted for it and we should have a relatively stable team for next year. But how brilliant will it be if we do - can't wait for Sunday

Yes,good post.I thought if we lost at Leigh then we had blown it but i was wrong.Last couple of season's have petered out pathetically but this could be a belter.If KH purposely set out to play at 50% first half of season to ensure all gun's blazing at end,then that could turn out to be a masterstroke.

A good post Simfax. It is such a change to be watching Fax play rugby for a proper reason this time. I appreciate it's a long shot that we would get promoted straight away under the new structure but having £450k in the bank would be huge in our current financial state. It's the first time in a while I have travelled up to Cumbria 3 times in a season and down to North Wales but the season has just got better as we have got to the business end. Our winning run has come from nowhere when you think about the 5 drives and a kick rugby earlier in the season but we have a few flair players now and a good pack that lay that winning platform. Pity the support has been down in numbers. Fax TV was a masterstroke. The saga over TA and the Shay was too vitriolic for my liking and seemed to pre occupy us all for a while. Our rugby is now doing the talking and lets hope we have bit of luck on Sunday for once and finally beat Fev at home and better still stop them getting a bonus point!That will be a day off work recovering if we do!

Good post I was very down early season as it felt like 2004 and the club seemed to be going backward and we were freewheeling down the league imo.
But credit where it is due the players and coaching staff have just got on with it and turned things around, I must say bringing in Tommy Saxton was a good move.
I just feel that the public of Halifax need to get off their backsides and support both Town and Fax as they are both doing well and deserve our support come on.

I totally agree with all that. Although I think it's poor that we will be happy with 2nd place, this season is an exception and 2nd spot is all about the brass on offer and what goes with it looking forward to the next couple of seasons. We are so close to achieving what the aim was at the start of the campaign, lets really get behind the lads on Sunday and cheer them on to the victory that woild surely seal the 2nd spot.
