Neil's Notes v Workington/Away Travel : Mon Apr 13, 2015 7:31 am
Makes a change to have a game won by half time with some good open play and our usual hard solid defence. I know we would have liked a lot more in the 2nd half but Workington would have not scored without our mistake and it showed how solid we are in defence with some crunching tackles. Once again difficult to pick out a Hitman sponsored by Halifax RLFC Players Ass but in the end it went to Richard Moore who had another promising game, this time at loose forward which seems to suite his ball playing skills. Voting for the Shay Lounge MOM saw James Saltonstall for the 3rd time running take first with the 3 points and second again Scott Murrell with 2. The final point went to Mitch Cahalane who makes a lot of yardage and was rewarded for this.
James with 11 points now leads Luke Ambler by 4 points with Scott in 3rd on 4 points.
The first draw for Club 1873 was made in the Shay Lounge after the match. First out of the bag was number 134, Stewart Stott who picks up the £25 voucher and the £20 voucher went to number 69 Chris Haigh.
Thank you to everybody for your support of Club 1873 once again which will see one lucky person pick up a 2016 season ticket at our last home Super 8 game and which will also see £25 and £20 vouchers on offer at all the home league games plus 2 Super 8 games.
Also thank you to the Workington supporters who despite being disappointed had a really friendly time with the Halifax supporters after the game in the bar.
Finally the half time draw winning number was 9509 for £132.
