Neil's Notes v Bradford/Away Travel : Tue Mar 29, 2016 9:12 am
At last after all those games where we put ourselves in a position to win but just fell short we secured the win in a tight game. Even going into the last 30 seconds with Bradford on our line we could have just missed out again. Richard Moore who was the Shay Lounge Man of the Match summed it up in his interview in the Shay Lounge. We needed to get points in the table not another near miss with nothing to show. He said we played at times like our lives depended on it. Richard himself seems to have put a yard of space on recently. He gets the 3 points in the season long competition with Dane Manning taking 2nd with 2 points and 3rd Sam Smeaton with 1 point who also took the Hitman award sponsored by Halifax RLFC Players Ass. There was quite a few contenders with Scott Murrell with a try saving tackle after 5 minutes and holding up the player over the line 15 minutes into the 2nd half. Tommy Saxton's try saving tackle on 20 minutes, Gareth Moore driving the player back and Brandon Moore forcing the ball out in a tackle on 20 minutes into the 2nd half. We will need to see more of this when we go to Featherstone on Sunday.Gareth continues to lead in the Shay Lounge Player of the Season with 6 points but there are now 4 players on 3 points, Steve Tyrer, Dane Manning, Richard Moore and Adam Tangata.
The supporters coach to Featherstone leaves the Shay at 1.00pm for the 3.00pm ko. Adults £10 with juniors £5. To book phone me on 07714488080.
The winning number in the half time draw for £308 was 7706.
The first draw in Club 1873 takes place after the Swinton game on Sunday 10th April. We now have 130 numbers with hopefully a final push to reach last years numbers of 145.
Thank you to everybody for your continued support of Club 1873 and away travel. With your help we have donated £960 so far to the reserve side which includes £460 to team travel.
