Neil's Notes v Oldham/Awat Travel : Mon Sep 05, 2016 1:25 pm
Todays game was once again very close with us only pulling away towards the end. It was good though that we kept going even when 10 points behind just after half time and this is what we want as we build towards a home semi final at the end of the month. In fact two of the tries they scored were from our errors and the 3rd a play the ball on our line. The partnership of Rawsthorne/Heaton made all the difference with Ben taking the Shay Lounge Mom and 3 points and Nick 2nd with 2 points. 3rd and 1 point went to Chester Butler. Adam Tangata still leads on 18 points with Gareth Moore and Dane Manning on 15 points so that looks like how they will stand with only one game to go. Jacob Fairbank took the Hitman award sponsored by Halifax RLFC Players Ass with a strong display.
In Club 1873 David Durbin number 3 got the £25 voucher with Stuart Stott number 90 the £20 voucher. The main prize of a 2017 season will be drawn after the Workington game. The half time draw winning number for £136 was 4015. Do not forget to vote for your player of the season. The awards will be presented in the Banqueting Suite after the semi final game where all supporters are invited. Our final away Shield game before the playoffs is at Swinton this Sunday 11th September, Ko 3.00pm. The supporters coach leaves the Shay at 12.45. Adults £10, juniors £5. To book phone me on 07714488080.With Swinton still in with a chance of 4th place it could be an interesting game. A further donation from Club 1873/Away Travel was made towards the reserves and team travel, making £2190 so far. Thank you to everybody. Neil neilarber43@gmail.com. |
