Neil's Notes v Workington : Mon Sep 19, 2016 8:41 am
With league positions already decided for both teams it was a chance to bring in a number from the reserve side and they all did well with James Woodburn-Hall taking both the sponsors Man of the Match and the Shay Lounge MoM. With 20 minutes to go Workington were back in the game but 3 further tries saw the game out with Workington getting a final try just before the end.
Ben Kaye who took the Hitman award sponsored by Halifax RLFC Players Ass also took 2nd place and 2 points in the Shay Lounge Player of the Season with Gareth Moore 3rd with 1 point. In the final standings Adam Tangata is 1st with 18 points with Gareth 2nd with 16 points and Dane Manning 3rd with 15. Their nearest challengers were Steve Tyrer and Ben Johnston on 6 points. The top 3 will receive their awards at the Supporters Reserve and 1st team Player of the Season awards which will take place in the Banqueting suite after the semi final against Sheffield next Sunday. All Supporters are invited into the Suite after the match with a barbeque to follow on the Banqueting terrace . In Club 1873 the main prize of a 2017 season ticket went to number 136 Graham Halliday. Bonus numbers were drawn which entitle members to 2 numbers for the price of 1 when renewing for 2017. Phil Coventry 22, Julie Payne 30, Sylvia Ryan 96, Alan Ogley 56.
