The contrast in season ticket prices are stark, but they will not convert our fans to buy them. For the floating fan, even £100-ish is a lot to pay for a speculative spend.
I always believed that the Bulls may have persuaded some from Calderdale to go and watch the odd game, especially when they were very successful, but they never converted Halifax Fans to switch long term. The real concern is probably the reduction in attendances across most clubs. Huddersfield have never set the world alight with attendances, and given the investment in the club they have certainly constantly pitched below their spend.
As our pricing policy looks reasonable compared to other clubs, and we need to ensure we get money through the gate rather than give tickets away. Rather than other clubs I am more concerned by our challenge to get Fans to come back to watching us every week, and sadly I think you only do that with a consistently successful team on the field combined with good marketing (this is also the Giants problem).
Despite doing well in short bursts we have not really made the Shay a "venue of choice" each home game. Success breeds success for all but the "die hard" fans.
