Neil's Notes v Hull KR : Tue Jul 25, 2017 6:33 am
Well what a climax to the regular season. After the Bulls game it was in our own hands to secure a top 4 spot. To beat all 3 of our top 4 rivals was a big ask but that is what we have achieved and in the process finishing 3rd. Everything seemed against us with Toulouse also beating Hull KR and Featherstone and so it came down to our last game. Not only did we beat Hull KR but controlled the game building up a half time lead and then playing a tight game second half giving nothing away. Scott Murrell got the sponsors MOM for a captains all round display along with the Shay Lounge MOM and the 3 points. Will Sharpe was a close 2nd with 2 points with Ben Johnston 3rd with l point. Will now has increased his lead to 16 points with Shane Grady still 2nd on 13 and James Saltonstall 3rd on 7 closely followed by Ben Johnston on 6.
The Hitman award sponsored by Stuart Fletcher went to Ed Barber but our defence from 1-17 has been good all season and is now in fact the best in the Championship. In Club 1873 the £25 voucher went to Stuart Chapman number 89 with the £20 voucher going to Robin Walton number 78. Half time draw winning number for £245 was 6000. Details for away travel for the Super 8's will be out asap after the fixtures are announced on Wed. As we approach the middle 8's a thank you to everybody who have supported the Away Travel and Club 1873 which has raised just short of £2000 to date. Neil 07714488080 neilarber43@gmail.com |
